- Centre of Excellence for Product and Automotive Design (CEPAD).
- The Queen’s Anniversary Prize 2007 for continuing to pioneer new developments in the field of Automotive Design. Key to this success is its innovative industry-focused courses and applied research, which have been highly influential in helping to maintain the UK’s position as a leader in automotive design.

- CU-ADAM lab - housed in the Bugatti Building and a collaborative initiative of the Design Institute.
