Welcome to UCLan FoundationCampus
Accommodation

At UCLan there is a wide variety of high quality, conveniently located student residences. Most of the accommodation is located on-campus and close to the city centre with easy access to public transport, shops and great nightlife.
If you have accepted your offer of a place at FoundationCampus and are starting a course in September, you are guaranteed accommodation within a University residence, as long as you apply for accommodation before 31st July.
Personal assistance to find the right home for you
The Student Accommodation Service has a very experienced team who is looking forward to welcoming you to Preston and will be available, together with the FoundationCampus team, to help you find the right place to live close to the Campus.
An approximate weekly guide to accommodation fees is £75 per week. Some accommodation types could cost slightly more or less than this.

A range of comfortable, affordable accommodation
There are two main types of accommodation:
University owned / leased accommodation on-campus
There are two types:
- Cluster flats: single rooms (with bed, wardrobe, sink, desk, telephone and internet connection). Each flat has up to six rooms, including a kitchen and bathroom.
- En-suite cluster flats: single rooms (with en-suite washing, shower and toilet, bed, wardrobe, desk, telephone and internet connection). Each flat has up to six bedrooms, including a kitchen.
University registered private accommodation
There are several types of private accommodation that are registered with the University. Details will be supplied by the UCLan Accommodation team on request.
There is also a good supply of student accommodation in Preston that is owned by individuals or companies (known as landlords). Again, find out more from the Accommodation team.
In order to apply for on-campus accommodation you must first accept your FoundationCampus offer. We will then guide you through the application process.
Late applicants for September entry
We cannot guarantee on-campus accommodation for late applicants starting in September.
All late applications received are considered on a first-come first-served basis. You will be given information about this when you enrol.
If you are unsuccessful in your application the UCLan Accommodation Team can provide you with lists of suitable local accommodation and with details of temporary accommodation arrangements.
January / April starters
You will be given information about accommodation options when you accept your offer of a place on FoundationCampus. On-campus accommodation does occasionally become available throughout the year, but cannot be guaranteed for late starters.
General information
You will need to sign a contract and have paid your rent before you enter student residences.
