UCLan is the UK’s 6th largest university with 32,000 students, 3,000 of whom are overseas students from over 100 countries. The new ‘Worldwise Learning Centre’ supports all students who want to learn a foreign language alongside their main programme of study.

4. Exceptional Student Support

Winners of The Times Higher Education Supplement Award 2006 for ‘Outstanding International Student Support’, the International support Team is based in the ‘i’ Centre in the Foster Building in the heart of the University, and offers additional assistance to overseas students to the University’s Student Support Service which includes the Health Centre, Multi-Faith Centre and the Counselling Service.

5. Value for Money

UCLan offer some of the best value degree programmes in the UK, with annual tuition fees below £9,000 for many courses. Accommodation is also very economical in Preston with university-owned options available from £75 per week, and private rented accommodation starting at £40 per week.

6. Scholarships for high-flyers

Scholarships and Merit Awards are availble for UCLan students at each stage of their journey.

Students progressing from FoundationCampus programmes with good grades are then offered £500 ‘Merit Awards’ towards the cost of their degree programme. In 2010, 44% of progressing Master's Foundation students achieved Merit Awards, and 33% of Undergraduate Foundation students.

Many international students are also able to access additional scholarships of between £500 and £1000 off their degree course.
